Services for William "Dale" Carter, 81, of Avinger will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Avinger.  Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 Friday evening at the funeral home.

He was born October 17, 1935 and passed away June 1, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, nine siblings; and one grandson.

Dale is survived by his wife, Betty Carter; daughters, Kay Scudday and Darlene Phillips and husband Russell; son, Craig Carter; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends.

  10. Betty, We were SO SORRY to hear of Dale’s passing, but are assured that he is no longer suffering. We know it is difficult for you after so many years of being so close, but we also know that God is in control and that He will carry you though this. Please keep us in mind and call if there is anything we can do for you. Unfortunately, we didn’t learn the time of the funeral until it was too late to attend or we would have been there.
