Services for Wilma "Jean" Duffey, 81, of Ore City will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Ore City with Bro. Ken Mills and Bro. James Gray officiating.  Burial will follow at Dennis Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the church. 

Mrs. Duffey was born July 23, 1935 in Hughes Springs to Taft and Mildred Golden. She passed away June 8, 2017 at her home. Jean was active in church for many years, serving as a member of the choir, Ministerial Alliance, WMU, among others. She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader and enjoyed working on anything her children were involved with. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; six siblings, Wana Glenn Golden, Reba Lynn Perkins, Kathleen "Cotton" Steed, William Wesley Golden, Carol Dean Golden, and Richard Wayne Golden.

Jean is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Willard Duffey; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Dwight York; son and daughter-in-law, Willard Jr. and Melinda Duffey; grandchildren, Amanda York Jones and husband Casey, Justin Duffey and wife Erica, Amelia York Borden, Christopher Stevens and Aryiana Stevens; great-grandchildren, Cole Jones, Laynie Jones, Clay Jones, Emma Haydyn Stevens, Jaxson Stevens, and Barrett Duffey; siblings, Joyce Ann Black and husband Richard, Johnnie Mae Chunn, Ronny Dale Golden and wife Ann, Sue McDaniel and husband Douglas, Stevie Harold Golden and wife Barbie, Tresa Bradley and husband Charlie; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

The family wishes to give a special thanks to Dr. Ronald Scott and his wife Pam and Dr. Rick Earnest for the love and care given to Jean and the family over the years.

  1. I’m am sorry for the loss. Mrs. Jean was a wonderful woman. I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Jean when she was friends with My Grandma Also Named Jean Tanner. My Grandma died january10th 2016 that’s how I meet my Grandma friend Mrs. Jean.
