Sister Linda Faye Hawkins was born Friday, January 6, 1950, on a cold, wintery day, to the union of CJ and Charlene Johnson in Morris County, Texas. She was the eldest of four children.

Linda accepted Christ at an early age, and became a faithful member at the Mount Zion C.M.E Church where she served as the Pianist and Stewardess.  She was a 1969 Falcon graduate of Carver High School in Naples, Texas.  She continued her education at Texas College in Tyler, Texas, pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. In July 19, 1970, she married her high school sweetheart, and to this union four sons were born.  She and Charles lived in numerous places, due to his job reassignments, that included: Fort Worth, Texas, Witchita Falls, Texas, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dallas, Texas and finally settling in Naples-Omaha in 1979. After years, of being a stay at home mom, she accepted a job as a Medication Aide, and eventually became a Substitute Teacher at Paul H. Pewitt High School. Her favorite job and pastime was playing the piano.  What she loved more than anything was spending time with her boys, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

On Sunday, September 24, 2017, Heaven needed an angel and God called his best. She was preceded in death by her parents, CJ and Charlene and her brother, James Johnson.

To cherish her memory she leaves: Her husband, Charles Hawkins, Sr., her sons and daughters-in-laws, Kelvin & Sulma of Naples, Texas; Thelvin & Lisa of Forney, Texas; Charles, Jr. & Nadine of Forney, Texas; and Tramond & Mary of Forney, Texas. Her grandchildren, James (Kila) Hawkins, Natalie Bates, Jakayla Hawkins, and Asher Hawkins. Her great-grandchildren, Aubrey and McKinley Hawkins. Her brother and sister-in-law, Paul & Barbara Johnson of Omaha, Texas. Her sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Jimmy Colbert of Fort Worth, Texas. Her uncles, D. Witt Jones and AD Johnson. Her aunts, Nona Ruth Barber and Dorothy Mae Jones. Her best friends, Benny Dickerson and LaJoy Peoples. Numerous other people, that she considered to be siblings or her own children, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends that she loved dearly.
