Steven Adair
April 26, 1983 ~ April 13, 2018
On April 13, 2018, the life of our loved brother, son, and friend, Steven Douglas Adair II was ended by a chosen death at the age of 34. Steven was loved and admired by many for his passion, wit, intelligence, deep conversations, enlightened thoughts, military service, discernment, and most importantly in the last years, his love for Christ. Steven was able to struggle through the deep questions of theology and life in a way many of us never will. He landed on the solid truth that God exists, his love for us is deep, and that Christ is our savior. He will be missed most of all for his uncanny ability to challenge our mindsets, engage our intelligence, and tell us stories. He loved nature, hiking, coffee, good food, grilling, traveling, classical music, guitar, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, Augustine, Tim Keller, the Bible, science, space exploration, geology, discovering the unknown, telling stories, deep conversations, finding truth, supporting justice…. His life cannot be summed up in any list of words, thoughts, or deeds. He will be greatly missed and was deeply loved. He left this world with these final words: “I am a terrible sinner, and Christ is a wonderful savior.” His savior’s arms are wrapping him tightly now.
He is survived by his mother Regina Adair, siblings Misty Adair, Ashley Vecheruk, Andrew Adair, and Melody Adair, and multiple aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
