Services for Cheri Lee Vinson, 50, of Ghent, Kentucky, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2018 at County Line Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 Thursday evening at the funeral home. 

Cheri Lee Vinson was born October 11, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois and passed away April 26, 2018. She attended school in Hughes Springs, Texas and lived most of her life in Daingerfield, Texas, where she raised her children and took care of her husband. Cheri was a very loving, caring, and devoted wife and mother. She loved animals, growing flowers, her children, and grandchildren. Cheri and her husband spent the last few years at their home in Ghent, Kentucky.

Cheri had a heart transplant in October 2016 and was initially recovering well, she was determined to get back to a good state of health and a normal life. Unfortunately she encountered complications and passed away in her sleep next to her husband in Ghent, Kentucky. Cheri was so amazing in dealing with her medical problems, she never complained, cried or felt sorry for herself. She always tried to laugh and smile right up to the end. She was the sweetest, strongest, bravest, and most caring person anyone could ever know.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Hester Mae Cannon Higginbotham.

She is survived  by her husband of 32 years, Gary Vinson; son, Timmothy and his wife, Casey Vinson of Hughes Springs, TX.; son, Christopher Vinson of Holiday, FL.; daughter, Felicia and husband, Dusty Parsons of Stone Wall, CO.; step-daughter, Susan and husband, Wesley Pahmiyer of Ganado, TX.; brother, Curtis and wife, Rachel Higginbotham of Daingerfield, TX.; brother, Michael Higginbotham of North Richmond Hills, TX.; step-mother, Jane and husband, Ronnie Clark of Snow Hill, TX.; mother-in-law, Mary Davison of Hallsville, TX.; grandchildren, Jace, Caroline, Asher, Dylan, Zoe, Eli, RaeAnne, Brailei, and MaKenzie; niece, Briana; nephew, Logan; as well as  numerous other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
