Margie Durham Beard

margie beard
Margie Earle Durham Beard was born January 15, 1942 in Linden, Texas and passed away August 15, 2018 at her home. Margie was a strong-willed woman who had a passion for life, great love and devotion for family, friends and employees.  She was not only the foundation for the many successful businesses she and her husband David Beard built, she was the driving force for their success.  Margie never shied away from hard work and when asked what her occupation had been, she would reply while smiling, “being Mrs. David Beard”.  Margie enjoyed spending time with her three sisters Ann, Mary Lou, and Martha Sue camping, going to bingo (in whatever town they were in), going to the “boats”, going on trips and even going to all doctor visits together.  Even though she struggled with pulmonary and heart issues, Margie cared for her husband in their home for the many years he needed care.

Loved ones that cleared the path for Margie are her husband, David Beard; infant daughter, Tammy Glenn Fagg; father, Lester Earl Durham; mother, Dorothy Eaves Durham; sisters, Ann Morgan and Mary Lou Berry; nephew, Rodney Morgan.  Loved ones that will miss Margie until they meet again are her daughters, Denise Beard and friend Bobby Pat Mitchell, Mikki Parrish and husband Fred, Dana Hitchcock, Kathy Weeks and husband Jason; grandchildren, Tonya Spencer and  friend Coby Martin, Colt Spencer and wife Victoria, Fredi Parrish, Tanner Gibson, Taylor Gibson, Lane Hitchcock, Gavin Weeks and Madison Weeks; great-grandchildren, Lukas Enloe, Haven Benge, Logan Benge, Haley Benge, Colt Spencer, Cohen Spencer; sister, Martha Sue Martin and husband Ken; brothers-in-law, Wayne Morgan, Jerry Berry, and Jerry Beard; sister-in-law, Lynda Beard-Davis and husband Billy Paul; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Ore City Church of Christ, with Johnny Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Coffeeville Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 Friday evening at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
