Richard Payne

May 15, 1940 ~ October 7, 2018
Richard Payne was born May 15, 1940 in Shamrock, Texas to Lawrence and Ruth Keeler Payne. He passed away October 7, 2018 at his home in Hughes Springs. He was a home builder and one of his favorite sayings was, “Everything is square with the world”. Richard was a member of Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church. He loved his family and most importantly, he loved his Lord.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Sharon White Payne; four children, Richard Payne II and wife Brenda, Dennis Payne, Kimberly Camp and husband Shane, David Payne and wife Tara; 13 grandchildren, Ashley Swift and husband Todd, Nick Payne and wife Lori, Amanda Whatley and husband Ken, Megan Payne, Michael Payne, Tori Beth Payne, Brandi Surratt and husband Cody, Caitlyn Camp, Trace Camp, Dallas Payne, Cody Payne, Gage Payne, Skye Payne; 13 great-grandchildren, Hagen Surratt, Harrison Surratt, Tristan Payne, Calum Swift, Lexi Whatley, Lanee Whatley, Johnny Payne, Colton Payne, Lenora Payne, Madison Payne, Remi Westmoreland, Brody Payne, Morgan Payne.
There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held at Concord Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund.
Our hearts go out to your family along with many prayers. Richard was a fine man who was head of a really good family. May God be with you all.
