Services for John Dean Roberts, 87, of Carterville will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Concord Cemetery with Bro. Jackie Stanfield officiating. Services are under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Roberts was born March 4, 1931 and passed away November 26, 2018. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and worked as a Master Electrician. He was preceded in death by his parents; and several siblings.
John is survived by eight children, Christopher and Tricia Brown, Crystal Brown, Mary Dollar, Gina Roberts, Lorraine, Catherine, and John Steven; seven grandchildren, Samantha, Teri, Caitlin, Joseph, Danielle, Heidi, and Haley; and one brother, Jackie Roberts.

I am sorry for your loss of Mr. Roberts. Jesus said at John 11:25; ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.’ We have this comforting hope because Psalm 37: 29 and Isaiah 65:21-22 helps us see that there will be a restored earth. 1 Corinthians 15:12-16 tells us that to question the resurrection of loved ones equates to denying the resurrection of Jesus. Thus, we have the hope of seeing our loved ones again.
