He also leaves a loving family in Massachusetts; several dear cousins; brothers and sisters of IBEW local 301; and many friends.

Joe was born on May 5, 1952 to Peggy and the late Harold Terry.  They were wonderful parents who taught what was most important in life to him, the value of family.  He was proud of being born and raised in Hughes Springs, TX and returned to visit as often as he could.

Joe lived many years in New York where his children were born and raised.  He was proud of his children and kept a close relationship with them until his passing.

He lived the last several years in Taunton, MA.  There he met the love of his life, his fiancé Karen.  He loved Karen very deeply and they were blessed to have each other for 15 years.

He was known for his work ethic which started as a young boy working in the hay field for his father Harold.  Joe was proud that he worked and saved his money to buy his first hunting rifle, which he still owned.

As an adult, he joined the electrician apprenticeship program.  Joe would trap and sell pelts to earn extra money while learning to be an electrician. He would leave home very early to set 50 or more traps before going to work.

Joe made many lifelong friends and was a mentor to others around the country during his travels for work.  He was able to experience many places and things over the years.   He was deeply affected from witnessing the tragic attack on the World Trade Center in New York.  He recently retired after 39 years as an electrician with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

His second love was fishing.  He was able to enjoy catching a lot more fish since his retirement.  Joe was known for his good nature, excellent memory; he loved to talk and had enough stories to last for days.

He will be greatly missed but know he is looking over us and rejoicing with his father, grandparents, aunts and uncles who greeted him when he went to heaven.

  3. Every prayer of sympathy for Joe’s family and friends. Such a sudden loss of a man loved by many. God bless you all.

  4. I spent alot of time growing up with Joe, he made a good impression in my life. He will be missed even though not seeing him in years. He asked me to go to NY, but I stayed in TX. God bless my friend Joe!

  5. Not many school day memories of mine do not include Joe Harold or Arnold Applin. They have both gone to Glory and I wish I could have told them goodbye. While we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet him behind the veil. John Taylor
