Missionary Lois Marie Alexander, 72 of Ore City, Texas, went home to be with the Lord in the peace, quietness and comfort of her home on March 18, 2019.

             She was born on November 27, 1946  to Harvey Alexander and Beatrice Young Alexander in Ore City, Texas, who both preceded her in death along with her siblings Charles Alexander, Charlene Alexander, Lucien Alexander, Dennis Alexander, Elmer Alexander Montgomery, Gladys Alexander, Vadeana Alexander, Laura Ann  Alexander McCain, and Annie Bell Alexander McCain.

She was educated in the public schools of Ore City and graduated from Valley View High School. She was a member of Greater Faith Temple of Longview, Texas where she served faithfully as a Licensed Church Missionary, Church Clerk/Secretary, Board of Trustee Member, Prayer Band President, Choir Member, Sunday School Secretary, and Food Committee Member. Missionary Alexander has served as the Pastor’s Aide President, District Sewing Circle President and YPWW teacher.

Lois worked as a cook for Ore City Independent School District for many years. She was known as the “Teacake Lady” for her delicious pound cakes and  cookies. She was a seamstress by trade and worked at Gabriel’s Men Warehouse where she remained until she retired.

Remaining to cherish her sweet memories forever are: her sister, Doris Alexander Hailey of Houston, TX; sisters-in-law, Deborah Alexander of Dallas, TX and Minnie Alexander of San Diego, CA; and a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 23,2019 at Saint Paul Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Coffeeville Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. There will be a time of visitation from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.
