Services for Carroll Pendley, 80, of Avinger will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Avinger. Burial will follow at Avinger Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Carroll Austin Pendley was born February 28, 1939 in Jefferson, Texas and passed away September 9, 2019. Carroll was a veteran of the United States Army. He attended East Texas Baptist University, Paris Junior College, and Texas Baptist Institute and Seminary in Henderson. He had a long and successful career as an insurance salesman, earning a spot in the Million Dollar Club. Carroll was a member of First Baptist Church in Avinger and served as a Chaplain for Good Shepherd Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Myrtle Pendley; daughter, Angie Pendley; and great-granddaughter, Brooklyn.
Carroll is survived by his loving wife, Mary Pendley; children, Tommy Pendley and wife, Renee, Robin P. Cody, Marie P. Loyd and husband, Curtis, Andy Pendley, Vikki Welebob, Billy Dison and wife, Laneva, Cyndie Sullivan and husband, Danny; grandchildren, Davien Pendley, Kandice Keenan, T.J. Pendley, Suzy Pitts, Charlotte Dodson, Billy Cody, Jessie Loyd, Sara Loyd, Micah Powell and wife, Nicole, Dylan Powell, Keith Dison and wife, Chelsey, Avery Dison and wife, Mikaela, Grace Dison, Bailey S. Miller and husband, Scott, Hannah S. Rees and husband Bryce; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kylar, Dillan, Natalie, Zac, Zoe, Addison, Brian, Boston, Blaine, Emily Rose, Andrew, Ryan, Nolan, Logan, Sydney Rylen; sisters, Virginia Kennon and husband, Bill, Merle Stroh and husband, Mike; and a number of other relatives and friends.
So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Carroll. Have many fond memories of him. He was a lifelong friend to all the family. Prayers for comfort to the family.
