Lillie B. Smith

September 26, 1927 ~ October 3, 2019
Lillie Belle Smith was born September 26, 1927 to Bennett Calvin Evans, Sr. and Flora Howard Evans. She entered her heavenly home on October 3, 2019.
Lillie graduated from high school in the 1940’s. After graduation Lillie Belle went on to cosmetology school and became a licensed Cosmetologist. On April 26, 1950 Lillie married Clarence Cecil Smith and to their union a beautiful daughter, Verna Pearl Smith Bolton was born. Lille Belle went on to work as a beautician in Cason for many years. In her later years Lillie Belle worked as a Teacher’s Aide at West Elementary in Daingerfield TX. There she was able to influence many lives of our youth and administration. After years of hard work and dedication, she retired from the Daingerfield Lone Star ISD in the late 70’s.
Lillie was baptized at an early age and added to the body of Christ. Lillie was an active member of Mt. Mitchell Church of Christ where she remained a member until her health failed. She was a faithful Sunday school teacher for the youth, and she provided wisdom and courage to the ladies of Mt. Mitchell. Lillie was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Cecil Smith AKA “Rue”, daughter Verna Pearl Bolton; her grandson Randy Bolton; seven sisters; and four brothers.
Lillie was peacefully called to rest on Thursday, October 3, 2019. She leaves to cherish her memory, two grandchildren, Tyrone (Tracy) Bolton and Brandy (Waymond) Atkins of Houston, Texas; seven great-grandchildren, Nino, Moya, Edmund, Alexis, Aaliyah, Avion, and Ayanna; and one great great-grandchild, Saniyah; a son-in-law, Eddie Bolton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Mt. Mitchell Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time for viewing at the church beginning at 11:00 a.m. Saturday and lasting until service time.
Though I'm not able to make it to Auntie's service, I wanted to send my heartfelt love & condolences to the family. Praying for you all. I love you all. 💖💯💜?
