Bobby Dean Tilley was born in Spur, Texas January 25, 1948 and passed away October 8, 2019. Bobby was a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and faithful member of Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He has worked as the Public Works Director and City Manager for the City of Lone Star since 1971. As a licensed AA water and sewer operator, he retired from North East Texas Municipal Water District and was very involved with the Lone Star Volunteer Fire Department for 32 years, serving as Fire Chief for a number of years. He was a founding member of the Lone Star-Daingerfield EMS, he was a member of the Lone Star Bass Masters, and touched many young lives as a baseball coach and scout master over the years. Bobby loved his family and his community but most of all he loved his Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.C. Tilley and Velma Murphy; brothers, Billy Tilley, Ronnie Tilley, Donnie Tilley, and Jackie Tilley; sisters, Beverly Dickinson and Vicki Hudson; grandson, Jay “Bodean” Rau; and son-in-law, Jeff Rau.
Survivors include, his loving wife of 55 years, Rita Tilley; children, Rebecca Tilley of Omaha, Rodney Tilley and wife, Kasha of Idabel, Oklahoma, April Hall and husband, Darren of Hughes Springs; grandchildren, Stacie Fair and husband, Michael, Kagen Tilley and wife, Lakeisha, Reilly Tilley, Jordan Lalonde and wife, Rachel, Pearl Perry, Hunter Perry, Isabella Tilley, Brookelyn Richardson and husband, Cayden, Daulton Hall; great-grandchildren, Juliana Fair, Colton Fair, Paislee Hall, Emersyn Richardson, and Ellie Tilley; four brothers, Sonny Tilley, Roy Tilley, Johnny Tilley, and Bruce Tilley; a sister, Jan Kunz; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Michael Stewart officiating. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

I'm saddened about Uncle Bobby. I'm glad i got to see him last year at a family reunion. I will always remember his smile and all the awesome stuff he posted on his story. Bobby was a great man. I remember him as my baseball coach, Scout Master, and Fire Chief. He influenced many young men and was a great mentor. Go rest high on that mountain, Bobby.
