Services for Dennis Ray Montgomery, Sr., 60, of Lone Star will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 26, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Hughes Springs.  Burial will follow at Mt. Pilgrim Cemetery in Lone Star under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Ore City.

Mr. Montgomery was born October 8, 1959 in Lone Star to the parentage of Laverne and Eunice Montgomery and passed away October 19, 2019 at his residence.  He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1978.  Shortly after graduation, Dennis joined the U.S. Army and served his country from January 1979 until June 1990.  He received an Honorable Discharge upon his separation.  He worked as a truck driver until his health failed him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Eunice Montgomery; and a grandson, Quilon DeRay Northcutt.

Dennis is survived by his wife Gwendolyn Montgomery; children, Dennis Montgomery, Jr., Meshia Montgomery-Boyd (Christopher), Quiana Montgomery, Jerwayne Montgomery, Eboni Arps-Montgomery, Sherica Armwood, Enekica Bruce, Dansby Hart; father, Laverne Montgomery; brothers, Melvin Montgomery (Red), Wayne Montgomery, Anthony Montgomery (Shirley), Vincent D. Montgomery (Angie), Gregory (Tweeny) Montgomery; sisters, Vanessa Montgomery-Foreman (Patrick), Cherri Montgomery, and Kenisha Jackson; 21 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a special friend, Jennifer Jefferson.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City.

  11. I was a good friend of dennis I came to visit him a few times in Dallas I met him in when he was on the road back in the 90s I'm so sorry to hear about his passing I know I'm late but I was thinking about him in I went to his page to see he had pass away my heart goes out to u all
