Mrs. Margett Ann Grundy-Jones was born May 29, 1952 to the parentage of Lee Grundy, Sr. and Ida Grundy of Linden, Texas.  Both parents      preceded her in death.

She united in marriage with William Justice and she raised one son.  Remarried to Joe Lewis Jones and she loved his nine children as her own.

She attended school in Fairview and graduated in the class of 1970 of Linden-Kildare.  Margett furthered her education in Job Corp in McKinney, Texas.  She worked for Senior Citizens for several years and decided to finish her career as a certified home health nurse tended to elderly.  Sis Jones joined Salem Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.  She moved to Smithland, Texas and united with the Belview Baptist Church where she served and worked as a Sunday School and VBS teacher, Deaconess and Matron Advisor until she departed this life.

Sis Jones was preceded in death by one sister, Mattie Iglehart and one brother, Lee Grundy, Jr.

She leaves to mourn her passing, two sisters, Mary Love of Kildare, TX and Jewel Spelling of Linden, TX; 9 sons, Donald (Robin) Justice, William Justice, Steven, Tony (Tamila), Charles (Elaine), Gary (Cynthia), Kyle (Debra), Mark Jones; 2 daughters, Tracy (Isaiah) and Tonya; 5 sisters-in-law, Charlesetta Williams, Willie Mae Bonner, Jimmie Johnson of Jefferson, TX, Mildred fisher of Dallas, TX, Gloria (Tom) Robinson of Shreveport, LA; 3 brothers-in-law, Clifford (Joyce), Harold (Cynthia), Welton (Mildred) Justice of Jefferson, TX; 1 aunt, Ethel Grundy of Shreveport, LA and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends

Services for Margett Jones, 67, of Linden will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Salem Missionary Baptist Church.  Burial to follow in the Salem Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.

Mrs. Jones will lie in state from 12:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.

  4. I have many fond memories of Margaret and the Grundy family. She had a huge impact on me as I grew up attending Salem Baptist Church. Gone but never forgotten.
