Alice Ruth Henderson was born November 3, 1946 and passed away May 24, 2020. Alice was a longtime member of Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Hughes Springs ISD after 40 plus years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Marie Erwin; husband, Howard Hill, Jr.; husband, Richard Henderson; sister, Fay Shaddix; and grandson, Steven Taylor Hill.

Alice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Matt Hightower of Hughes Springs; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Misty Hill of Carthage; four grandchildren, Emily, McKenzie, Kristen, and Hunter; sister, Minnie Hill; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. 

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Bradfield Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

  3. So sad to hear this news. Alice was a sweet friend I've known since our school days at L-K. Many memories raising our kids and church in HS. Prayers for the family during this sad time.

  4. I really missed her when I retired. Breakfast and lunch were so much better when she was at school. Her smile and warmth will be missed.
