Russell and I attended 12 years of school together in Tarboro, N. C. We graduated from Tarboro High School in 1960. He and Iylene returned to Tarboro to attend our 25th school class reunion. I will always have fond memories of Russell. He was a special guy and will be missed by all.
We send you all our love and prayers during this difficult time of loss. Uncle Russell was very special to us and loved dearly. From when we were very young He always showed us love in his special way. Loved to hear his somewhat of a laugh when we all got together. He tolerated all of us surprisingly well. He was loved much in return. Praying that God will be ever close to you and comfort you all. Thankful for the memories we all shared as family.
Mrs. Iylene, Cyndi and I are sorry to hear about Russell's passing. It was a joy to know him and spend time with him when we were serving in Harrisonburg, Louisiana. Please know we are praying for God's comfort and peace in your time of sorrow. Because of Jesus, you do not sorrow as those who have no hope.
I first met Russell and Iylene a few months after their marriage. I was living in St. Joseph, Louisiana, and was then a public school teacher, as were they. My wife Cathy and I visited in their home on several occasions in St. Joseph, Harrisonburg, and Many. I can attest that Iylene is a fabulous cook. I last saw Russell and Iylene in 1995 at Carla's wedding in Hughes Springs. There I also met his sweet mother. I earlier met his mother-in-law when they lived in Harrisonburg. Russell was a kind friend who loved cats, and I extend my heartfelt sympathy to Iylene, Jon, and Carla. I know it will be a difficult transition, which we all face at some point in time. May God bless!!
