Charles Waylon Buckland

Charles Waylon Buckland was born September 3, 1927 in Linden, TX the son of the late George Buckland and Dixie Coode Buckland. He passed away August 8, 2020 at his home in Linden.
Mr. Buckland loved the outdoors - camping, fishing, hunting, gardening and simply walking on his properties. He and his wife of 68 years Maurine owned and operated Elliott and Waldron Abstract office together until their retirement in 1984. He served his country In the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea.
Survivors include his children Carol Buckland, Jimmie Buckland and Donna Stewart and husband Dave. Grandchildren Jessica E. Middleton, Laura Ridnour and husband Stuart and Joel Stewart and wife Cara. Great grandchildren Kellen T. Middleton, David Stewart, Hadley Stewart, Samuel Stewart and Nora Ridnour. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
In addition to his parents Mr. Buckland was preceded in death by his wife Maurine Grubbs Buckland, brothers Jesse Buckland and Ralph Buckland, and sister Mary Buckland Reed.
Graveside services will be private.

Waylon was my childhood friend, classmate at New Colony Elementary School and Linden High School, and hunting and fishing buddy on Bowman Creek. Those were happy days.
