Mattie L. Edwards Holloman was born the sixth child on March 12, 1927 to the parentage of Andy Edwards Sr. and Annie Turner Edwards; eight siblings preceded her in death.
She was a devoted wife to Marion D. Holloman, Sr., who preceded her in death. Mattie was an extraordinary woman of God and she exemplified godly characteristics in her everyday life with a servant’s heart.

Mattie was a mighty warrior to the very end. She loved to sing praises to the Lord Jesus. When her children called to check on her, the nurses would state that she was singing and humming praises to the Lord.
Mattie had five children, with James David preceding her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Marion, Jr. (Patricia) and Emmanuel (Pequila); two daughters, Lanelle (Lawrence), Michelle (Roderick); and a daughter-in-law, Luverta; sisters, Mirian Hatten of Casa Grand, AZ and Vallie Newsome of Snyder, TX; her grandchildren who loved her dearly, three grandsons, Adrian, Reggie and Julian; six granddaughters, Kita, Kiesha, Cretia, Tosh, Terron and Brittany; ten great grandchildren, John, Jaden,, Jaxon, Jordan, Cura, Keeton, McKinsey, McKalia, Camden, and Nova; two great-great grandchildren, Kameron and Adrian; beloved niece, Bessie Parker of Wichita Falls, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend, Helen Hatten.
