Joann was born July 24, 1938 in Star City, Lincoln County, Arkansas. She was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church in Linden, Texas and a loyal friend to all who knew her. So sorry to hear of your loss. Joann was a sweet lady. Prayers for all of the family.
I also worked for DHS and would come to Linden to work in that county. Joann was a good worker and took care of business. If I needed help finding a location she would help me and was always willing to assist a co-worker. She had a quick smile and was always kind and not critical. God bless her and I know her family will miss her. She is a good lady
Our deepest, sincere condolences for your loss and prayers for peace and comfort. I’ll always remember our days at Red Hill and the times we spent together as family and how happy we all were.
with the deepest sympathy, my prayers are with you.
Keith, Rhonda, and Becky, I'm deeply saddened to hear of the passing of aunt JO. I will never forget the comfort it gave me for her being there during the loss of my mom and dad, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I have so many great memories of staying with her as a kid and an adult. Midnight snacks and lots of cuddles. Porch rocking and endless B rated movies. Baking and then eating it over the kitchen sink. Hand washing her dishes in water so hot it could leave burns. So many flowers and bird houses. Sitting with us at the hospital and eating chocolate donuts in the courtyard.
She loved her grandchildren so well, even during our awkward and annoying phases. She had so much patience for us and was always so happy to have us around. She took me on one of her rounds before she retired from DHS and taught me how to befriend people who were different from me. She was an amazing Granny and I hope to be just like her.
My condolences to the family.
