Marion Vernon "Red" Karr, 85, of Linden, Texas passed away peacefully on June 19, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Karr was born April 19, 1936 in Queen City, Texas to Burgess Mason Karr and Willie Irene Skinner Karr.  "Red" graduated from McLeod in 1956 and went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Army from 1959-1962 as a paratrooper and a member of the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles.  He loved to travel, go camping and hunting, but his biggest love was country music from the 1940's & 1950's.  He taught himself to play the guitar by having "jam sessions" in his converted shop.
