October 22, 1934, in a small town called Carthage, Texas, something marvelous happened.  The town must have had a deep sigh of relief, for it had been given a gift like none other.  For on this day, a very precious jewel, an adorable little princess was born to the parentage of George and Roberta Adams Eddie.  One can only imagine that the Earth must have shaken from the impact of such a wonder.  God had graced the world with yet another wonder, and behold they called this wonder  Theautrice Larene Eddie.  Never to be known as ordinary or simple.  Never to be underestimated or afraid or frail.  She was a child of strength, wisdom, imagination, determination and she had a strong belief in her faith in God.  Born the third child, she learned quickly to have her own distinguished identity.  Not your average queen in the making, but a regal defined being who had been filled with an abundance of unconditional love and adoration.  A queen who would openly spread that love to many.  A queen that would be non-comparable and indisputably loyal and dedicated to any “cause” she became a part of.

As a youth in school, Theautrice was a gifted and talented baseball and basketball player.  She was an outstanding track star.  Not only was she a decorated sports woman, she was also brilliant in class.  Afterall, upon graduating from Mt. Enterprise High School in 1951, she was the valedictorian of her class at the young age of 16.  Theautrice had a bright personality.  She was also a prankster and quite a comic at times.  She developed some important homemaking skills which she perfected throughout her life.  Those who knew of her culinary skills can attest to her “slap your momma” sweet potato pies and that “speaking in tongues” peach cobbler and that “feed me til I want no more” chicken and dressing.  Oh and let’s not forget about the “smacking your lips” potato salad.  They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, but she found the love of her life on the basketball court, Alvin D. Brown.  She was the most supportive, virtuous, faithful wife to be “found” by a man.  The epitome of “to love and cherish, in sickness and health, until death do us part.”  She was the most nurturing mother ever to give life to a child, so freely giving unconditional love a heart could ever give.  This union in marriage created 10 children to love; however, the 1st resulting in pre-mature death.

Theautrice, received the Holy Ghost at a young age.  She served under the leadership of the late Elder Isaac Parker and later faithfully followed her husband’s ministry.  Together they fathered and mothered 5 churches, Macedonia Apostolic Church, Diana, Tx; Bethel Temple of Longview, Tx; 1st Apostolic Church, Longview, Tx (founders), 1st Apostolic in Jefferson, Tx and Lighthouse of Gilmer Tx.

In these bodies of Christ, she was called to serve in many capacities in the sanctuary as well in the communities.  Those callings consisted of playing the piano, singing in the choir, missionary president, youth Sunday school teacher, a prayer warrior and sometimes the janitor.  She never claimed to be a speaker or preacher, but she was very knowledgeable of the Bible and was an awesome teacher of scripture.

After the death of her husband, Theautrice experienced something she had never been, “a single parent”.  Being a “stay at home” mother and wife for years, she knew she had to do something different.  She returned to the classroom.  She became a Certified Nurse Aide and a Certified Floral Designer.  With passion for her careers, she worked in these professions until her health would no longer permit.  She remained a faithful and active member of 1st Apostolic Church in Longview, even after the death of her husband under the leadership of Elder James Skinner.  Through the restructuring of the church and change in leadership, 1st Apostolic Church of Longview became Temple Greater Works II., under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Richard D Washington.  Under new leadership, she continued to serve in the temple as Mother of the church.  She faithfully drove to church and many times provided transportation to other members until she could no longer do so, due to her own failing health.

For over 15 years, she (with the help of the Lord) battled with congestive heart failure.  Refusing a pacemaker, because her faith was in God.  She suffered 17 major strokes, accompanied by countless transient ischemic attacks (aka TIAs).  She suffered with COPD, high blood pressure, atrial fibrillation (without the use of a pacemaker), and arthritis.  Her faith in God remained strong.  What a fighting, warrior she was.

During her younger years, she was told that she would not be able to bear children.  Her 1st pregnancy resulted in a loss, but her 2nd born was a success, Alvin.  A few years later, she suffered her 1st heart attack.  After several heart attacks, she began to have more children.  After 9 healthy children, she had no more.

None the less, one glad morning, the trumpets rejoiced, and her name was called….  It was a call for a new assignment.  It wasn’t a routine call from the “Eddie Sibling Circuit” that she had grown accustomed to.  It wasn’t a Hey Mommy, how are you doing call.  It wasn’t a call that could not be sent to voicemail or call-waiting.  God called her, THEAUTRICE!!!!!! She answered, Lord, here am I.  I have run my race.  I have finished my course.  I have kept the faith.  Theautrice gave up the ghost.  Her work here was done.  She will suffer no, more pain; no more sorrow; no more suffering; no more medication; no more heart break; no more doctor’s appointments.  She resigned her life as we know it and put on new armor.

Waiting in sleep as Theautrice transitioned are:  husband, Elder Alvin D Brown, her parents George and Roberta Adams Eddie, sisters George Marie Eddie Butler and Portia Larue Washington, Baby Zuela Eddie, brother Vernon Senoris Eddie and baby Eddie.

She leaves an immeasurable amount of love and memories to:  6 sons Alvin F Brown, Xyclone O Brown and Yukalas K Brown all of Longview, Tx; Dwyras L Brown (Martha) of Gilmer, Tx; Kavonda G Brown (Haroline) of New London, Tx; and Gurtis M Brown (Jeanita) of Ore City, Tx, 3 daughters Laburka Z Skinner (Rickey) of Longview Tx; Vibran L Brown of Diana, Tx and Jader L Brown of Longview, Tx, a God Son:  Bishop Dr. Richard D Washington and wife National Evangelist Dr Jennifer Washington of Shreveport LA, Grand Children:  David Brown, Scarlet Brown, Verkessia Skinner, Zonitia Skinner, Stefone Brown, Dwyras M Brown, De’Andre Brown, Franchesca Brown, Stephen Francisco (Yami), Leveous Brown, Alexis Brown, Alecia Brown, Alasia Brown, Alana Brown, Nicholas Brown, Kaylee Brown, Trinity White,  Daneisha Patterson, Tyra Tatum, Jaylen Tatum, Johnathan Tatum, Caretia Washington(god-son’s daughter); Great Grandchildren: Xadrian, Nevaeh, Akasha, Kashus, Jaxson
