Peggy Jean Bishop

Peggy Jean Weaver Bishop was born April 3, 1929 in Florence, South Carolina. She passed away August 15, 2021 in Waco, Texas. Peggy was a long time resident of Avinger and a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer; her parents, John McNair Weaver and Maude Edith Evans Weaver; sisters, Mary Scott and Ponnie Bailey; four brothers, Mac, Bill, John and Paul Weaver.

Peggy is survived by her three daughters and one son-in-law, Cathy Webb of Waco, Susan and Ronald Sloan of Hughes Springs, Terri Medrano of Hallsville; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Rita Bishop of Hughes Springs; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robin Weaver; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Charles Russell officiating.  Burial will follow at Turkey Creek Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

There will be a time of  visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.

  2. So sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother. Ms. Peggy was a sweet kindhearted Christian woman. My prayers are for strength and peace during this time for each of you.

  3. I am so sorry for your loss. Peggy was such a sweet friend of mine since I first met her at the church in the early 80s. I will miss her much but I know I will see her again someday in our heavenly home. May God bless the family during this time as Peggy and Homer have blessed me over the years.
