Funeral services for Harry "Sonny" Crockett, will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 30, 2022 at New Hope Baptist Church in Ore City, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City.  There will be a time of visitation 6:00 until 8:00 Friday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Crockett was born February 14, 1949 and passed away April 25, 2022.

Harry “Sonny” Crockett, Jr. was born to the late Harry B. Crockett, Sr. and Baby Jean Crockett in Gilmer, Texas.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Geraline “Pookie” Crockett; and grandson, Shevron McCain. Sonny worked and retired from Lone Star Steel and Upshur County Road and Bridge (Precinct 2). He also worked for the City of Ore City and Harrison County Road and Bridge.

His hobbies were fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his dog, “Lil Mama”, along with    family and friends. 

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Delia; children: Angela Crockett McCain (Sheldon) of Diana, Texas, Mark Crockett of Dallas, Texas, Kristy Crockett of Longview, Texas, Jamie Crockett of Ore City, Texas, and Kwa Schelling of Longview, Texas; step-son, Patrick Peoples of Diana, Texas.  He is also survived by his sisters:  Maylene Hurd of Woodlawn, Texas, Eva Jewel Mathis and Erma Crockett, both of Ore City, Texas; brothers:  Willie C. Crockett of Garland, Texas, and A.C. Crockett of Longview, Texas; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; special friends: Joey and Carolyn Stroman, and Marilyn Castleberry; and a host of cousins and friends.

  4. Dear Delia, Please know you and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers now and in the days to come. You were so blessed to have the love of your life since high school. I think if him fishing all the time, and know he walked into the loving arms of our Lord. Although we will miss his earthly body, we take comfort knowing we will see him again one day. Due to my immune system I will miss seeing you at visitation and the service. Prayers for you and your son.

We really hate it to hear the news about Mr Sonny He was absolutely one of my favorite people He was a very good man and a good friend to my late husband Charles and I always enjoyed our time with Sonny his loving smile his caring and giving. Our hopes and prayers for his family to find comfort in knowing how many people treasured and really appreciated the man that Sonny Crockett was !!!
