Peggy Marie McDaniel, 79, of Linden, passed away Monday July 11, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family.  She was born May 7, 1943 in Linden to Buster and Mary Mitchell.  She was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church.  Peggy was an LVN at Linden Municipal Hospital for over 20 years and an auxiliary member.  She worked as a private nurse after retiring from Linden Municipal Hospital.   She also was a supporter of St Jude’s Hospital, Shriners Hospital, Susan G Komen Foundation, and  the ASPCA, just to list a few.  She enjoyed playing the Texarkana Gazette Bingo and won a few times.  Reading, traveling, shopping, and going out to eat were a few of her past times.  She loved visiting family in Louisiana and indulging in the cuisine, especially etouffee, crawfish, shrimp gumbo, and frog legs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry McDaniel; parents; one son, Dennis Moore; one brother; and three sisters.

Mrs. McDaniel is survived one son and daughter-in-law, Mickey and Sheryl Wadkins of Linden; two daughters: Pam Moore of Texarkana, Texas and Carla Braddock of Linden; two brothers: Jerry Mitchell and wife Jannis of Linden and Jack Mitchell and wife Shirley of Kildare; one sister, Tommye Jean Tims of Atlanta; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. McDaniel will be 2:00 P.M. Friday July 15, 2022 at Reeder-Davis Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Linden Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.  There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
