Services for Floyd Allen Currey, 91, of Daingerfield will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Daingerfield Church of Christ. Burial will follow at County Line Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday and last until service time.

Floyd Allen Currey was born August 18, 1931 in Cass County, Texas to Alvie D. and Hazel Currey and went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2022. Floyd graduated from Hughes Springs High School in 1950. He then married Edna Jewel Bean and together they had four children. He attended trade school for masonry from 1950 to 1954 and became very skilled at his trade. He worked as a brick mason at Lone Star Steel for 22 years; 16 of those as a supervisor.Β  He worked a total of 18 years as a consultant quality control inspector and designer at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport , contractor for Senora Independent School District, and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 16 years. Floyd retired in 1999 and enjoyed going to church and watching television.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edna Jewel Currey; brothers, Alvie D. Currey and Preston Currey; and grandson, Lee Michael Thomas Stillwell.

Floyd Allen is survived by his wife, Brinda Currey; three daughters, Robin Hall of LaPorte, Texas, Karen Carroll and husband, Danny of Hughes Springs, Pam Currey of Hughes Springs; son, Kelly Currey and wife, Faye of Hughes Springs; step-daughter, Carrie Monje and husband, Alex of Lubbock, Texas; grandchildren, Brian Stillwell and wife Michele, Kerri Clyatt and husband Rod, Erika Davis, Ruth Horton and husband Chad, Shelly Cheavens, Brittny Tschetter and husband Jared, Ryan Currey, Jeni Peart and husband James, Matt Endsley, Michael Endsley, Christa Huie, Daniel Carroll, Lisa Byrd and husband Chris, Laura Schulz and husband Lawson, Josh Monje, Joseph Monje and wife Tamesha; sisters, Wynell Steeley and Carolyn Hicks; 32 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and a host of extended family and friends.
