Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy LaVern Johnson Williams, 75, of Arlington, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Avinger. Burial to follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mrs. Williams will lie in state from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Dorothy L. Johnson began her life on May 23, 1947. She was born in Denison, Texas to mother, Quartense Johnson Allen and father, Sam Brown, who both preceded her in death.
She married Isaac Williams and they had no children. She joined Faith Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church of Grand Prairie under the leadership of Rev. Emanuel Lupo,Β and Rev. Stanley E. Smith. Dorothy graduated from Colbert High School in 1965 in Colbert, Oklahoma. She later graduated from Mount Olive Bible Institute on January 15, 2012.
She is survived by seven sisters, Ethelene Thomas of Dallas, Rosemary Johnson of Dallas, Sandra Gholston of Denison, Phyllis Smith, Karen (Neil) Rivers, Trenia (Jerry) Guess all of Denison, Danita (Donald) Tryon of Grand Prairie; seven brothers, Larry (Ruby) Allen of Houston, Thomas Allen of Grand Prairie, James E. Dawson, Rev. Stanley (Cindy) Brown, Samuel (Laura) Brown, Jimmy (Rhonda) Brown, Donald (Tonya) Brown, all of Denison; aunt, Margaret (James) Brooks of Nevada; two uncles, Jimmy Allen and James Allen; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

was a very nice Christian woman, she took Thanksgiving dinner@ my home a few years
back before she took sick my heart is with you.
So when this corruptible shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But Thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Dorothy was a friend and co-worker whom I have known for years.She will be missed by many
