Leah Kae Taylor, born April 19, 1980 in Dallas, TX went to be with our Lord and Savior on December 24, 2022. She was at home surrounded by the family she loved so much, after a three and a half year battle with cancer.
Leah met the love of her life, Eric Eugene Taylor at Baskins were they worked in 1999. They married June 30, 2001 and later had two amazing children, Trenton Mason Taylor and Harlee Skye Taylor.
Leah is survived not only by her husband and children, but by her grandparents, Ronnie and Peggy Bednar of Emory, TX; father, James F. Burns Jr. and wife Stephanie of Tyler, TX; her mother, Patricia Kay Ogara and husband, Christian of Hutto, TX; her brothers: Zach Burns of Wylie, TX, Samuel Burns of Tyler, TX, Ben Ogara, David Okoh, Chiggy Ogara of Hutto, TX; sister, Tricia Burns of Dallas, TX; father and mother-in-law, Don and Reba McCurley of Chandler, TX; sister-in-law, Regena Calcote of Naples,TX; nephew, Austin Calcote of Daingerfield, TX; niece, Kali Calcote of Dallas, TX; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
Leah loved her family with all her heart, they were the most important thing in this world to her. She loved family game nights, cozying up for a good movie, especially Hallmark Christmas movies. She had the best friends in the world and was so grateful for each and every one of them. She cherished every single girl’s trip and gathering, especially the ones involving karaoke. She planned everything and got a little irritated if her plan wasn’t followed. If it wasn’t Leah clean, it wasn’t clean. Her family teased her about her OCD tendencies. She loved deeply and unconditionally, but she would call you out if she thought you were headed in the wrong direction. But you never had to wonder if she had your back, because she would take on anyone who messed with her family and friends.
Through these last three and a half years, she never stopped fighting and continued to live her life with grace and dignity. She knew Jesus carried her every step of the way. Her unfailing faith kept her going even when she didn’t feel she had the strength to go one more step. Our hearts will always hold her near and our faith in Christ promises we will all be together again.
