Alecia Rachelle Howell

August 5, 1975 ~ January 24, 2023

Funeral services for Mrs. Alecia Howell, 47 of Daingerfield, will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2023 at South Union Baptist Church with Bro. Casey Howell and Pastor Chad Thompson officiating.  A private burial will follow at Clark Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.  There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

Alecia was born August 5, 1975 in Longview, Texas, to Aleeda Ruth Bass Barton and David Michael Beason.   She grew up like every normal kid in the ‘80’s, playing outside, riding a bike, playing house, swimming, going to church, playing sports, sleepovers, birthday parties, family get-to-gathers, and enjoying time with their dog Barney. As she grew her interest soon grew to boys, hairspray, and fashion.

She attended Pine Tree ISD she was very active participating in one-act plays, band, basketball, and soccer. She also loved visiting her grandparents (Rex and Betty Bass, Doris and Taylor Beason) during the summer and attending VBS and Church Camp where she met her husband, Cory.  They were united in marriage on August 15, 1998 at LMBC.  Her grandparents taught her about gardening and especially picking peas and corn and putting up vegetables.  She called Longview Missionary Baptist Church her home and soon after her marriage to Cory, they joined Greggton Missionary Baptist Church.

After graduating high school, she attended Kilgore Junior College and SFA University studying Business and Finance and used these skills working at various jobs including her dad’s CPA Firm.

After years of trying to start a family, they welcomed Hudson in May, 2005 and being a Mom was the best experience, loving and taking care of him.  Later in 2016 they were blessed to have a precious daughter, Presley, which brought so much joy to her life.  As her health declined, she cherished every moment with her husband and kids.

She leaves behind her husband Cory Dale Howell of 24 years, son Hudson Sayre Howell and daughter Presley Rachelle Howell, brother Joel Beason and wife Juanita, Mother Aleeda Barton and husband Michael Barton, mother-in-law Shirley Shaw, brother-in-law Casey Howell and wife Rosie, nieces and nephews – Emily and Elizabeth Beason; Connor, Rachel, Emily, Layla, Annabelle, and Alex Howell, numerous  Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.

Special thanks for all of the many expressions of kindness, calls, visits, texts and prayers for our family at the passing of our loving Mom, Wife, Daughter, Niece and Cousin.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Longview Missionary Church 806 Building Fund, 800 East Loop @ Hollybrook, Longview Texas, or South Union Baptist Church, 159 FM 997. Daingerfield, TX 75638.
