Alicia Armenta was born May 12, 1943 in Bachiniva, Chihuahua, Mexico and passed away January 7, 2013 at her home in Hughes Springs. Services will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8, Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Rosary will be recited at 7:00.

Although I do not know Alicia, I have known many of her people over the years of my teaching career. Many of my most memorable and best loved were Texans/Mexicans and Americans. Those studentswere a blessing to me, as I learned of their faith which was much like mine. I learned through them that my Methodist God was just like their Catholic God. I believe that you are resting in the heart of that God, and you have been just as I, one of His children. Rest in peace, Alicia.
