Services for Allen Fredrickson, 85, of Daingerfield will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Clark Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.  The family invites you to view and sign the register from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

On February 28, 1936, in Oakland, California, Allen was the 10th child born to "Red" and Babe" McNab. He soon became a resident of the Children's Day Home and Nursery. At two years of age, he was adopted by Lee and Laurie Fredrickson of Santa Barbara, California, where he graduated from high school in 1954. Allen joined the Army in 1955 and spent 11 months of his   enlisted career in Germany. In June of 1966 Allen    married Judy Brantley and they had three children.

In 1972 Al moved his family to Texas and settled  amongst his wife's family where he worked for Lone Star Steel and as a truck driver until he retired. He was very involved with the Jenkins community center and volunteer fire department, serving as chief at one point. He and Judy were also volunteer EMTs for the local ambulance service. Al and Judy had been married for 45 years at the time of her death in 2012.

Al was an easy going soul, with a heart of gold who was always eager to help in any way he could. He was a hard worker, a loyal husband, a great dad, and a wonderful "Pops". He was loved and he will most certainly be greatly missed.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents; several siblings; and his wife, Judy.

He leaves behind daughters, Heidi Smith and husband, Jody and Tammy Hatley; son, Glen Fredrickson; three granddaughters, Holly Williams and husband Clint, Heather Baker, Katie Jo Wylie and husband Russell; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Payton Baker and James Williams.
