Funeral services for Andy Edwards, Jr., 79, of Hughes Springs, will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Hughes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Travis Bowie, Rev. Lionelle Traylor, and Rev. Laurence Stokes officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, of Hughes Springs. Andy Uncle Buddy Edwards was born November 28, 1933 in Hughes Springs, Texas, to Andy Edwards, Sr. and Annie Turner and passed away February 14, 2013, in Arizona. He was previously married to Pauline Veasy and Wrotee Stanton Edwards. Andy attended Traylor High School and retired from Lone Star Steel as a security guard. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; six sisters and one brother. He is survived by his children, Nathan Earl Edwards, Beverly Henderson Lynn (DeMarco), Andy Lafayette (Denise), Keman Harris, Daffney Edwards; and step-daughter Diedra Henderson; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and four loving sisters, Florence Royal, Mattie L. Holloman, Myra Hatten, and Vallie Newson.

  1. Sorry to hear that Andy died. I worked at T&N Railroad and knew Him when he was a guard. He was a fine man and I always enjoyed talking to him at work.

  5. It has almost been a year since Andy has passed and it hasn't gotten any easier for me. I miss my father more than words can express. The last year of his life, we finally made peace and grew close. My only regret is that I did not make it to see him before he laid down to his eternal rest. Andy, your grandsons and I will always love you and you will always be in our thoughts!
