Services for Annie Jean Roberson, 79 of Daingerfield, will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Ms. Roberson will lie in state from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. 

Annie Jean (Lawson) Roberson was born in Morris County, Texas on September 11, 1939 to the parentage of Tommie Lawson and Katedora Walker Peel and was also raised by Samuel Peel. She was joined in matrimony to Joe Melvin Roberson and from that union two sons, Leslie Roberson and Richie Roberson were born. 
 
She confessed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and united with Faith Temple and later with Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, both of which are in Daingerfield, Texas. At Mt. Moriah, she participated in the choir, was on the Usher Board, and served as President of the Youth Ushers, and was a part of the teaching committee, women's ministry,  and kitchen committee. She was known as a talented seamstress. She was employed at the Mike Benet sewing factory in Pittsburg, Texas. She finished out her career working as a caregiver at Sabine Valley in Gilmer. 

She was preceded in death by fathers, Tommie Lawson and Samuel Peel; mother, Katedora Peel; two sisters, Dora Lawson and Wilma Peel; four brothers, Samuel Peel, Otis Peel, George Peel, and Melvin Peel. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, sons, Leslie (Lorane) Roberson and Richie Roberson; grandchildren, Sescely Roberson, Zachard Roberson, and Vicki Wright (Shun); great-grandson, JaCorbin C. Calico; sisters, Margaret Evans, Rosie McCoy, Susan Anderson, Betty Peel; brothers, Robert McCoy, Harry Peel, Jimmy Lawson; and a host of relatives and friends.
