Augusta Floyd Perry Morgan Fortune Services for ‘Gusta’ Morgan Fortune, 90, will be 11 AM Monday, June 12, 2006, at Reeder-Davis Chapel, with the Rev. Ron Dyess officiating. Burial will follow in the Hughes Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Fortune passed away Thursday, June 8, 2006 in the Palestine Hospital. Family visitation will be at the Chapel Sunday from 6-8 PM. Mrs. Fortune was born February 2, 1916, in Almond, Alabama, to Will and Estelle Perry. She was the eldest of three daughters. Preceding her in death were her parents, sisters, Acadia Jordan, and Dorothea Lasater, husband, O. A. “Piney” Morgan, son, Roger Morgan, grandson, Steven Morgan, and husband, Pleas Fortune. She is survived by daughters, Judy Thrift of Palestine, Pat Rigsby and her husband, Skip of Gainsville; son, Mike Morgan and his wife, Dianne, of Hughes Springs; grandchildren, Tammy Shaw, Kim Morgan, Debbie and husband, Louis Conn, Brenda and husband, Johnny Bruffett, Trevor Morgan, Jennifer and husband, Mike Scroggins, Matt Morgan, Mark Rigsby, Keith and wife Kristy Rigsby; ten grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, brother-in-law, Pat Morgan and wife Jerri, sister-in-law, Edith Barnett. Mrs. Fortune was a long-time member of First Baptist, Urbandale, Hughes Springs, Glenwood, and East Mountain Baptist .
