Services for Avalene Hatten, 74, of Lone Star will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Rock Island Non-Denominational Church with Rev. Willie Lee Chism officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pilgrim Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Avalene Montgomery Hatten (Abby) was born September 12, 1943 in Cass County to Lorenzo Montgomery and Minnie Lee Montgomery. She passed away November 13, 2017 at her home.
She confessed to Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Rock Island Non-Denominational Church until her health failed her.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Bobby O. Hatten on January 20, 1962. To this union three children were born; Timothy O. Hatten of Lone Star, Texas, Patricia Stevens of Longview, Texas, Warydell M. Hatten of Lancaster, Texas. Additionally, she is survived by three brothers, Willie S. Chism, Alfred J. Montgomery, Alvin M. Montgomery; one sister, Loretta Wesson; two grandchildren, Myesha Taylor and Kimetris Stevens; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Lorenzo and Minnie Montgomery; husband, Bobby O. Hatten; sister, Glendora Brown; and grandson, Jonathon Hatten.
