Services for Bennie Brown, 54, of Cason, will 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time for viewing from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Bennie Charles Brown was born March 13, 1964, in Cason, Texas to the late Willie Jane Brown and Robert Allen Young, Sr.

Bennie was well known in his community for his big heart and selfless acts of kindness. He attended Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, LA on a track scholarship. He received his Bachelors of General Studies degree from NLU. He worked for several industrial companies such as; Scot industries and Georgia Pacific. In 2001 Benny opened Brown’s Tax Services.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Katherine Brown.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Alisha Searcy-Brown of Pittsburg, Texas; daughter, Diamond Brownof Grand Prairie; granddaughter, Kiersten Garrett of Grand Prairie; three step-children, Aniya, Jamir, and Jamar of Pittsburg; 12  siblings, Sheila Hawkins-Brown of Alexandria, Louisiana, Elvettia Brown-Canton of Cason, Montoya (Sonia) Brown of Las Colinas, Fabian (Wendy) Brown of Daingerfield, Rodney Clayborn of Longview,  John “Bobo” Brown of Lancaster, Pam Evans and Doris Payne of Dallas, Lytha (Derrik) Reeves of Garland, Robert Young Jr. and Nicole Young of Texarkana, Yvette Stanton of Hughes Springs; a very special friend/college roommate, Byron (Pam) Wright of Mesquite; and a host of special nieces, nephews and friends.
