Funeral services for Ms. Betty Tidwell will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2023 in the chapel  of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.  Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Marietta, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.

Betty Vestal Tidwell was born June 30, 1931 in Hughes Springs, Texas to Allie and Ludie Vestal She went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 19, 2023.

Betty was a member of New Hope Seventh Day Adventist Church in Marietta. She worked many years as a surgical nurse at the Linden Municipal Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward P. Tidwell; her parents; son, Jeffry Tidwell;  grandson, Jesse Wayne Perkins; brothers, Ray Vestal, Joe Vestal; and sister, Juanelle Ferguson.

She is survived by her son, Larry and wife Cherie Tidwell; daughter, Lona and husband Mark Smith; grandchildren, Brandon Strickland, Amber Perkins Williams, Tyler Wayne Tidwell, Taylor Michelle Tidwell; great-grandchildren, Tyler Ray Harris, Jesse Bryant Perkins and wife Alyssa, Braydon Williams, Bryson Williams, Brooklyn Williams, Easton Strickland, Alyssa Bow Strickland, Allye Brook Strickland; great great-grandchildren, Ellie Perkins, Eli Perkins, Dawson Ray Strickland; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
