Beverly Jo (Hubley) Miller passed away on October 24, 2026, in Linden, Texas, at the age of 93, surrounded by her loving family. Jo was born on October 16, 1933, in Many, Louisiana, to Cleve and Winnie Hubley, and was the 12th of 13 children. Throughout her life, Jo cherished her large family, treasured time with classmates and cousins, loved to dance, and embraced life to the fullest.
Jo attended St. John’s Catholic School in her early years and later graduated from Many High School. From a very young age, Jo had a deep love for her Catholic faith and, as a little girl, would often walk by herself to her church just to sit and pray.
During high school, Jo was actively involved in numerous clubs and organizations and served as a cheerleader all four years. She went on to attend Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, where she was head cheerleader and earned her degree as a medical technologist.
After completing her internship at Confederate Memorial Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana, Jo was hired by Dr. Bucy and Dr. Glenn and moved to Linden to work at Linden Hospital. She later continued her career with Bucy-Glenn and Glenn-Garrett Clinic, serving the community for 45 years.
Shortly after moving to Linden, she met the love of her life, Adron Miller. Following a two-year courtship, they married in 1957. Together they shared 35 wonderful years until Adron’s passing in 1995. They raised four loving children and devoted many hours to supporting their activities and interests. Jo cheered on not only her own children but countless others as well.
Jo was known throughout Linden for the care and compassion she showed towards all of her patients, especially young children. Many fondly remember how she would walk them over to Linden Drug for M&M’s after their lab work.
Jo was deeply involved in both her community and her church. She served Linden through numerous civic and school organizations, including the Community Council, Wildflower Trails, United Way, L-K Band Boosters, Corinth Cemetery Board, DAR and Music City Texas. She was a founding member of the Linden Heritage Foundation and was instrumental in organizing the welcoming committee for Main Street Texas when Governor Greg Abbott and his wife visited. Jo enjoyed singing in Christmas Cantatas and participating in the Linden Lions’ Follies.
As a devout Catholic, Jo spent her life praying, serving, and sharing her faith with others. She taught catechism for years, beautifully instilling the faith into the hearts of countless youth. She served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister and also served on the Altar Society and Building Committee.
One of the greatest joys of Jo’s life was her family and the many gatherings and celebrations they shared. She had a lively spirit and a gift for bringing people together, filling her home with love, laughter and lasting memories. Whether it be a holiday, special occasion or just an afternoon visit, Jo delighted in opening her home and welcoming one and all. Her grandchildren will forever cherish the holidays spent at their Granny’s house with family and friends, where everyone was made to feel special and loved. She was the pillar of both the Hubley and Miller families and was often referred to as the family’s matriarch. Through her unwavering faith, generous heart, and joyful spirit, she united generations and leaves behind a legacy rooted in family, love, and the importance of being together.
Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Adron Miller; her parents, Cleve and Winnie Davis Hubley; her brothers, C.J. I have wonderful memories of Ms Jo from my childhood. She was there to perform several x-rays for my mishaps, she was at all things supporting her children and school activities, I saw her through my Finley-Morris days and later as a fixture at the Music City. The one constant was her beautiful welcoming smile and kind greetings. God truly gained an angel. My prayers to the family.
One of the kindest people I’ve ever known! She was so sweet to my children when they were little. Always a smile and a big hello! She truly cared how you were doing. She will be greatly missed.
