Billy Joe Watson, 88, of Hurst, Texas passed away October 5, 2018.  Mr. Watson was born February 7, 1930 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Sherman and Elizabeth Watson.  He served his country proudly in the United States Army where he served in the Korean War.  Mr. Watson  retired from General Motors after 30 years and he was a faithful member of Shady Oaks Baptist Church in Hurst, Texas.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Jean Watson; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Joseph Martino; step-children, Glynn Williams, Billy Williams and Paula Turner; six grandchildren, Marcie Martino, Matt Martino, John Williams, Taylor Turner, Cody Turner, Mason Turner; five great-grandchildren, Lauren Martino, Eli Martino, Juliana Martino, Collette Williams, John Williams; one brother, Clyde Watson and numerous other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marie Watson.

Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Bear Creek Baptist Church with Bro. John Baxter officiating.  Burial to follow in the Bear Creek Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.

There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
