bonnie brumley
Bonnie Ellen Brumley, 78, passed from her earthly body into her heavenly body to be with Jesus Christ, our Lord on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. Mrs. Brumley was born on September 8, 1935 in Brownfield, Texas to Bonnie Wayne and Dolly Ladona Nelson Horn. She was a 1953 graduate of Brownfield High School and married her high school sweetheart, Eugene Brumley, on September 4, 1954 in Lovington, New Mexico. Mrs. Brumley was a stay at home mom for many years while residing in Lubbock and Abilene, Texas. A few years after the family relocated to Texarkana, she spent 17 years in the accounting department at State First National Bank, which later became Regions Bank, in Texarkana, Arkansas. Mrs. Brumleywas a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church in Linden. Bonnie visited Colorado for the first time while on her high school senior trip to Colorado Springs. Seeing the Garden of the Gods and the Rocky Mountains began a lifelong love affair with Colorado and traveling. RV-ing became a big part of family vacations throughout theyears of marriage and children, traveling to many states, Canada, and Mexico. Years later after the children were grown, gone, and both had retired from work, Eugene and Bonnie set out on the ultimate retirement adventure beginning on December 10, 1995. A big decision was made to sell the house and travel the United States. The memories that were made during those fifteen years of RV-ing would last a lifetime. One of the greatest trips of all began in April of 1997 when Eugene and Bonnie spent four months exploring Alaska. Other favorite RV-ing trips included driving down the west coast on Highway 1 from Oregon to California, viewing the awesomeness of Niagara Falls, witnessing the beauty of the Grand Canyon, and of course, experiencingthe majesty of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Traveling came to a close in the fall of 2010 when it was time to settle down in Linden. Mrs. Brumley leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Eugene; a daughter, DeAunn Lowe of Creede, Colorado; a son, David Brumley of Linden; grandchildren, Allison (Ryan) Lowe Burum of Frisco, Texas; Garrett Flies of Fort Worth, Texas; Ethan Flies of Fort Worth, and Devin Brumley of Linden; one brother, George (Barbara) Horn of Gillespie, Illinois; and one sister, Nadine Womack of Lubbock, Texas; along with several nieces and nephews. 1. I love you mom, and I know that you are in heaven with Jesus. I'm rejoicing that you are complete and not in anymore pain. I know you are rejoicing with your mom and dad, and your brother. Even though I'm sad, I have peace knowing that I will see you again. Love, DeAunn

  2. Sending so much love to you, DeA & also to David & Eugene. You know I loved your mom so much. There are just really no words at a time like this except I'm so sorry & I love you all.

  3. God is so good. I went to the Veteran's Center at Homelake in Monte Vista, Colorado with a group of friends today to play my trumpet, take lap blankets that Ladies Aid Society of Creede had made, and to play bingo. The first resident I met there was a feisty lady named Bonnie. I love you mom.

  4. ThanksMy mom was always very enterprising when it came to making clothes for me. She made sure that I was always decked out in the latest high school fashions of the 70's. Some of my very favorite things she made for me were the ever popular double knit pant suits, Nehru jackets, a leather-look fringed jacket, capped sleeved jumpers, dotted swiss prom dresses, my beautiful drum major uniform, a star shirt, and a hot pink crushed velvet hot pant suit. Thank you mom for loving me that much!

  5. DeAunn and family, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

  6. My prayers and thoughts for all of you in this time of your loss. Bonnie was a very special person to me, and will be missed by so many.

  11. Just finished putting some more family pictures here for others to see. I love seeing the pictures of mom when she was healthy and still feeling good. Mom was so beautiful at Allison and Ryan's wedding.

  12. De Aunne, I'm very sorry for your loss. Even if you know it's coming, it's very hard to say goodbye to the person that loved you like no other. Put your wants and needs above hers, and devoted a very large part of her life to mold you into the person you became.

  13. Thinking of you, DeAunn. I didn't know your mother, but from everyone's comments, she was quite a lady. I know you'll miss her. God Bless you and the family.

  14. Tom & I will greatly miss your shining face, Bonnie. We will also miss all the good times we had camping & eating out with you & Eugene.May you rest in peace, my precious friend.
