Wow there were allot of memories in such a short time. The mornings we enjoyed coffee before leaving for work each morning. All the silly chit chatting, the advice on training horses. Just so much, but mostly the memories of you loving those fried potatoes. But I must say I think the silliest was all those squash you planted and trying to keep up with picking them and getting rid of them after we ate so many that's all we seen even in our dreams.Dad I have and will always love you, see you again.Tena
For the last several years I had the pleasure every Wednesday as a home health nurse to get to Mr godwin. I truly enjoyed our visits and will never forget him. He truly blessed me I will miss him greatly.
Well..there are lots of memories. Him and my grandmother who passed away in May of 2015..had a big part in raising me..my sister and my brother. He was a truck driver so he spent many weeks or months on the road but there we're three occasional trips we got to go too. The times we didn't he would occasionally bring back something special home for us and that was always exciting. Him and my grandmother always kept a garden or two going in the spring/summer months and I can still recall the sighing and moaning of having to get up early some days and even some evening cause we had to go help pick stuff that was ready and carrying buckets of stuff back to the house. The shucking corn and shelling peas seemed never ending..lol. oh yea and the purple finger tips was always fun..lol! But one thing was for sure and that's we ate so good and they taught us the hard work of it. My grandparents. Thats where home was and where a big part of our childhood heart was. I catch myself often thinking back to those days. I'm also grateful that he was a big part of my son..caleb's younger years. He was so crazy about Caleb and Caleb loved his papaws tractor which he rode on many and many of times. Although we had some rough years into my adult years, I do wished I would have spent more time visiting instead of letting things stand in the way of it. I just try and focus on all the good instead. My grandparents. I will always miss them. Rip papaw…we love you.
