Charette "Troy" Hill

November 5, 1951 ~ December 30, 2019
Charette Wesley Hill was born on November 5, 1951 to Ermidean James-Hill and Matthew W. Hill Jr. He passed away on December 30, 2019 at his home in Lone Star. Charette (Troy) was the second of five children and the only son.
Troy was born in Fort Benning, GA, however he was raised in California. He graduated from Compton High School and worked at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard before an injury that caused him to be disabled.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his three children, Dawn Riggins of CA, Charette Hill II AKA Jonathan Kain (Chartae) of CA, Misty Hill AKA Kelle Kain of CA; his sisters, Audrey Mann (Willie) of Desoto, TX, Roslynn Hill of Compton, CA and Denise Bell of Springdale, AR; he also leaves six grandchildren, Kaelyn Kain, Vivian McGrew, Keyshon Gilmer Jr., Donte Gilmer, Lyric Pugh, and Asia Riggins; three great-grandchildren, London Gilmer, Melody Gilmer and Lil Kaelyn; Aunt Arvis James of CA, Aunt Ida Hill of TX; five nieces, Shaneka Kemp of TX, Ebonie Perkins of TX, Amber Hunt of CA, Ashley Reeves of AR, Aleice Reeves of AR; a nephew, Will Mann; and great nieces and nephews. He also leaves a host of cousins and friends.
His parents; and youngest sister, Deborah Joy Hill preceded him in death.
Troy has shared many times his knowledge of scripture. He also shared his belief that Jesus died, was buried and rose from the dead. He once regularly attended Restoration Family Church in Naples, TX.
In reflecting over Troy’s life we all can agree HE LOVED everyone. He made it his business to know who you were and your family history! Everybody was his kinfolk. His favorite saying was “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff”!
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Reeder-Davis Chapel. A private burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
