Charles "Charley" Tipping

Funeral services Charles Charley Buford Tipping, 87, of Hughes Springs, will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Reeder-Davis Chapel, in Hughes Springs. Burial will follow at Hughes Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home. There will be a time of visitation from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Tipping was born August 27, 1925 in Cuthand, Texas and passed away August 11, 2013 at his home. Charlie served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked at Lone Star Steel for 41 years and served on the Hughes Springs Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years. He is preceded in death by one son, Jerry Tipping; and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kinney Tipping; one daughter , Teresa Tipping McCain and her husband Fred, of Oak Hill, Va; one daughter-in-law, Angie Tipping, of Barnstown, Ky; five grandchildren, Greg Mooneyhan and wife Melinda, Jarrod Tipping, Jillian Tipping, Lauren McCain Earley and husband Justin, and Stephen McCain; one great-grandchild, Whit Earley, and a sister-in-law, Lois Tipping. Memorials may be left to the Hughes Springs Volunteer Fire Department or the Hughes Springs Cemetery.
