Charles Robison

December 30, 1947 ~ October 5, 2022
Charles Wayne Robison, 74, of Atlanta, Texas passed away October 5, 2022. Charles was born December 30, 1947 in Galveston, Texas to H. Wayne and Esther Robison. He was a veteran of the Merchant marines and the U.S. Air Force, and served as Justice of the Peace in Cass County for a number of years.
Charles, also known to many as “Roby” and later “Judge”, lived a full and colorful life, full of vigor and adventure. He grew up with nothing, and literally walked uphill to school both ways. He never wanted for anything, probably because it was in the cab and bed of his truck. He was tough as nails, but he had a giant servant’s heart, helping many people along his path, never wanting any recognition, only asking that you do a good turn for someone else. He was a ‘Jack of All Trades’ and Entrepreneur. He was a Motorcycle Police Officer for Bossier City, owned a gun shop, sand blasted and painted (including the Cass County Courthouse three times in 30 years), climbed radio towers (putting up the original satellite for local AQC TV), and drilled water wells. He used to claim that he was the only man in Texas that climbed up 300 ft and drilled down 300 ft, and he did it all by himself, until his boys were old enough to help. He loved the outdoors, Boy Scouts, camping, and making peach cobbler in a dutch oven for the entire park, not just his camp. If you found him at the coffee shop, you would learn a life lesson along the way. He loved motorcycles, airplanes, a good fight as much as a good prank, and ‘collecting stuff.’ If you met him, you remembered it. He was a man of his word, and his handshake was his bond. Love it or leave it, you always knew where you stood with him.
Charles is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law: Chad and Amy Robison of Morganfield, Kentucky; Brad and Kayli Robison of Diana, Texas; Thad and Hannah Robison of Midland, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jody and Patricia Colbeck of Linden, Texas, Ron and Jayn Robison of Shreveport, Louisiana; six grandchildren: Jordan, Bo, Ava, Eli, Hadley, and Reese Robison.
Services for Mr. Robison will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2022 at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Linden. Burial will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.
A meal will be served following the burial.
There will be a time of visitation from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Prayers for peace and comfort for your family 🙏🙏
One of the best guys I ever had the privilege of knowing. Rest in love Charles.
Mr. Charles is one man that I can remember the first time I ever met him…1985 or 86 I was camping out on my family's land in McLeod and riding dirt bikes with my cousin all over the area and almost hit Charles head on when flying over a hill… He turned that old truck he was driving around like a NASCAR pro and chased us down… Even when we went off road and caught us at a fence we couldn't find a gap in…. We was terrified!
After he calmed down a smirk came across his weather worn face and in his deep voice told us he has boys too and sure don't want to see any of us get killed ridding on these roads… He gave us a serious talking to, not cursing, not belittling us but just a stern man to boy talking that I remember like yesterday.
Years later after moving to McLeod he helped me out of a ticket… Again while riding a motorcycle to fast. He remember me and my cousin that many years ago. Then in 2014 I moved down the road from him and he was the first neighbor who came and welcomed us… Again laughing about chasing me 30 years ago. He always checked on my family when I was out of town working and then passed that on to Brad.
I really wish I had knew him better, especially years ago. Either way I am GLAD I personally knew him. What I do personally know of him was a man's man, the kind of rough and tough outlaw from the old B&W westerns. I will always remember him fondly.
Brad and Thad…. Take what he taught y'all, pass on the good and laugh about the other.
Another strong man from that time has passed. These snowflakes of today just will never understand.
Rest in peace my friend.
Charles was a friend for many years. From Boy Scouts to the Courtroom, he was always there. Many great memories.
Charles was a great friend for many years. We always had so much fun around him, hanging out at airports and cooking out. He was very caring of others and would do anything he could for you. When I went thru the last battle with cancer he called on a regular basis to check on me. I just talked to him around 3 weeks ago. I will truly miss the ole boy in our lives. I will never forget him, such a loving person. Rest in peace Charles, we have and always will love you.
To The Precious Family of ‘Judge’ Charles Robison,
My prayers and thoughts are with you, Judge was very instrumental in assisting me in doing my job, I frequented his office for help in getting patients in the hospital in need of care. He was always the same where ever I saw him, kind and offering his assistance to those in need. He wasn’t just Judge, he was a friend,
Rest Well Judge’.
Prayers for peace and comfort for your family. Charles was my friend and he will be dearly missed.
Charles was a wonderful man never hesitated to help or just be a friend .prayers for all his family.
Man what a guy…!
God broke the mold after he made Charles!
He loved people…
He was brash with a servant's heart.
I witnessed Charles helping countless people when I ran the Travelplex. It was an almost an everyday occurrence that a traveler experienced problems and was held over at our business. Charles was not bashful…it was an opportunity to help someone. He was not afraid to get into someone's business! He'd dig into their story and find out what he needed to do to help, and did it on his own without requiring anything in return.
He was definitely a prankster! He loved to embarrass me in public places!
The world needs more men like Charles Robinson!
What a hoot he was!
He will be missed but definitely not forgotten!

Rest in peace, Dad. Sorry you never got to meet your other 5 grand kids.
Had the best of times in the Air Force with Chuck. We kept in touch all these years. He was one in a million and will be missed by many!
But it didn’t happen. Sounds like you were a well liked caring person. Looking at a picture of you finally…I now know the truth. Two years too late..for answers to questions I was too proud to ask. I will always wonder…if you had ever seen a picture of me..if things would have been different..
