Charles Wayne Basham of Hughes Springs, Texas passed away on June 28, 2019 at the age of 61. He was a member of Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church and was employed by Cass County. 

Charlie enjoyed singing and he loved being with his family and friends. 

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Clinton Charles Basham; and step-father, Clifton Jackson. 

He is survived by his mother, Lanelle Simmons and step-father, W. C. Simmons; one brother, John Michael Jackson; two sisters, Carolyn Watson and husband, Dennis, Tammie Moore and husband, Jimmy; one niece, Jennifer McEntire; four nephews, Rustin Watson and wife Megan, Brent Watson and wife Robyn, Clint McEntire and wife Breeanna, Sean Moore and wife Lisa; a very special friend, his "brother from another mother", Randy Carpenter and his lovely wife Linda. 

Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2019 at The Missionary Baptist Church in Hughes Springs.  Burial will follow at the Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 pm., Sunday evening at the funeral home.

  6. So sorry to here the news of Charles passing. The videos brought tears to my eyes, especially the pictures of good ole days when ya'll where little. I pray that Jesus will wrap you all in His tender loving care during this difficult time. God bless and love to you all.
