Clarence "Clance" Smith

July 12, 1927 ~ August 13, 2018
Clarence Cecil Smith “Rue” was born in Morris County on July 12, 1927 to the parentage of B.W. Smith and Captoria Boyd Smith.
Clarence attended Carver High School in Naples during the early 1940’s. On April 26, 1950 Clarence married the love of his life, Lillie Belle Evans and to this union a beautiful daughter was born Verna Pearl Smith Bolton. Rue went on to start his career at Lone Star Steel and after many years of hard work and dedication to the Steel Mill Rue retired with several service awards and created great friendships.
Clarence attended Mt. Mitchell Church of Christ where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Ruse was a faithful leader in the church where he led the church in praise and worship each Sunday morning and night until his health failed. Many loved and requested him to sing his favorite song, I’ll Travel On.

My prayers are with the family. I knew Mr. Smith from Windsor and he was such a nice gentleman and a joy to be around. I feel honored to have known him for awhile.

So sorry for your loss. Clance was a sweet man. He will be missed.
Clance you were a great man on this Earth, I am so honored to have been apart of your life up here at Windsor Place, wish we had more time for our talks and brought my guitar back more often. I still think how we shook hands for the last time on the 13th and we shared some laughs in the 200 hallway. Just so sudden and unexpected my brotha, my heart is broken but the Grace I have is knowing a good soul like you is up there with God watching down on us now, and Im hoping your getting your cookies up there! Just remember to share them lol. I won’t ever forget the great man I’ve known you to be, and I’ll do my best to see that Lillie is seen after. I love ya buddy, rest easy -jSmith
The Rowe family is praying for this family who is our family. Brother Smith has been in our lives since 1971 when my dad Gene Rowe Sr and family enter into Mt. Mitchell Church of Christ and the family there, forever in our hearts
We will always love you.
