Clay Martin Samanie, 72 of Linden, TX. was called to our heavenly home to be with our Lord in heaven Sunday, April 26th. 2015 ! He was born Dec. 21st, 1942 in Houma, LA. to Lionel Martin Samanie and Rose Marie Theriot Samanie. Clay was a member of the Avinger United Methodist Church. With limited family who were unable to care for Clay he was embraced into the family of Ed and Mary Lou Lawless of Linden, TX. 28 years ago where he has since resided and been considered a member of the family. Clay was one of the nicest/friendliest men you could have ever met! He was well known by customers at Ed's Auction House where he worked the ring and church services where he prepared the building & served communion at Ed Lawless Ministries services the 1st. Thursday night of each month. He was always ready to attend church services, he loved the Lord and we know the Lord loved him ! He also had many friends at the VFW Post #6968 of Linden where he loved to dance and play darts. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Betty Samanie and Marion Zeringue and one brother Bret E. Lawless. Clay is survived by Ed and Mary Lou Lawless (whom Clay called 'Momma & Daddy') four sisters; Lorraine Primeaux and husband Chuck, Brenda Washington and husband James, Renee Eaves and husband Deriek, Diana Lawless Nimmo and one brother Jeff Lawless and wife Colette and many neices and nephews. He was loved by all ! Services will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 30, 2015 in the Chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden. Burial to follow in the New Colony Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
