Funeral services for Clinton Royal, 86, of Hughes Springs will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24 at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs with Rev. Eric Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Avinger under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Royal will lie in state Friday afternoon and evening and the family will receive friends from 6-7:30 PM at the funeral home in Hughes Springs. He was born September 12, 1923 in Cass County, TX and died Wednesday, April 21 at his residence. He was a member of Love Chapel Baptist Church. He retired from Lone Star Steel after 37 years. He is survived by his wife Claudia Beatrice Royal of Hughes Springs; four daughters Julia Royal of Avinger, Wanda (Dennis) Gaston of Marietta, Claudia (Perry) Espie of Desoto and Bobbie Coleman of Tacoma, WA; two sons Billy (Liz) Royal of Hughes Springs, and Glyen (Clara) Royal of Avinger; his siblings Everett Royal of Hughes Springs, James Denmark of Longview and Armie Wade of Sulphur Springs; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Ed Royal and Josie Birdine Royal and one daughter Clara Royal.
