Graveside services for Darlene Leath , 80 of Ore City will be Wednesday January 13, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Ore City Cemetery in Ore City, Texas. Visitation will be Tuesday January 12, 2016 at 6-8 at the ReederDavis Funeral Home in Ore City, Texas.
Mrs. Leath was born January 12, 1935 and passed away January 10, 2016 at her home in Ore City, Texas.
Darlene (Tovaas) Leath was born January 12, 1935 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Selmer and Garnet (Strain) Tovaas and passed peacefully on January 10, 2016 at her home in Ore City, TX.. Darlene was raised and attended school in California. She graduated from Lynwood High School and went on to nursing school in Stockton, California. Upon her husbands(Ken) retirement from the US Navy, they moved to Ore City in 1972. Darlene was primarily a homemaker, a devoted mother, loving wife, grandmother, and GG (great-grandmother). While devoting herself to her children and home, she also maintained a kennel of AKC Boxers from 1954 until the time of death. Some of her most endearing qualities were her grace, quick wit, and her strength.

Mrs. Leath was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Wanda and Dode Elofson, who raised her from age 6, her nephew Bumpy, sisters Nola and Lucille, sister- in- law Ruby and Doris, niece Lenora, sons Mark and Casey and her husband Ken Leath.

She is survived by her children, Ronda and Bruce Mathews of Woodward, OK., Michael and Cindy Chappell of Longview, TX., Lisa and Jesse Ruiz of Woodward, OK., Cole and Christie Leath of Fountain Hills, AZ., Amy Leath and Mike Oliver of Ore City, TX., Gayle and Dennis Westberg of Havelock, NC., Kenny Leath of San Diego, CA., and Vickie Leath of Bridge City, TX., 17 grand-children, 15 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
