Darren Lawrence Gaston Sponge Bob was born May 31, 2002 to Patricia Lawrence and passed away March 23, 2014. He was placed in foster care in the home of Dennis and Wanda Gaston at the age of three. He was both a joy and challenge to them and they adopted him on September 21, 2010. Darren attended Paul Pewitt Junior High School. He attended Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. Darren loved to offer his opinions and advice to everyone. He loved putting things together and traveling. Darren was a boy of many words and bright ideas, especially when he was planning a family trip. He was very quiet, but if didnt take him long to start expressing himself. He loves to cherish his memories his parents, Dennis and Wanda Gaston and Patricia Lawrence; brothers and sisters, Michael Gaston, Marcus Gaston (Deidra), LaTresa Reed (Noel Jr.), Kerry Gaston (Kimberly), Iesha Gaston, LaShetha Gaston, Jaimya Gaston, Jamar (Tank) Gaston, Rosalynn, Amari, Alisha, Jaylon, and Jordan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Marietta. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of Visitation from 6 until 8 Friday evening at the funeral home.

  6. I was blessed to be Darren's occupational therapist at Paul Pewitt. He always had a big smile for me and made my job such a joy. I will remember our walks down long hallways as we sometimes stopped to rest. He never complained and always gave his all. My prayers are with you. May God bring you peace and comfort. He will be missed.
